Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Duskfield Studios LLC ("we", "us"), the maker of OdometerIQ ("the app"), collects and uses information when you use our website and application. By using OdometerIQ, you agree to the practices described here.

1. What we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form).
• Drive & mileage data — trips you log or that are tracked automatically, including routes, distances, timestamps, classifications, and any notes you add.
• Odometer photos — images you upload, along with the reading and date.
• Vehicle & profile data — vehicles, work profiles, saved locations, and mileage-rate settings.
• Usage & device data — basic analytics about how the app is used, to keep it reliable.

2. How we use it

We use your information to provide the service: to track and classify drives, generate your reports, sync across your devices, and support you. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Location & drive data

If you enable automatic tracking, the app uses your device location to detect and record drives. You control this in your device settings and can switch to manual entry at any time. Location data is used only to build your mileage records — we never sell it, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

To turn a start or end point into a readable address instead of a pair of coordinates, we send that point’s coordinates (not your identity, and not the rest of your route) to a mapping provider: OpenStreetMap first, and only if it cannot name the place, Foursquare or Google Places. If none of them answers, the app simply shows the raw coordinates. Map images in your reports are rendered from OpenStreetMap tiles.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and nobody at Duskfield Studios reads your drives for marketing or analytics. We do rely on service providers to run OdometerIQ, and only as needed to run it. We may disclose information if required by law. Reports you export are yours to share with whomever you choose, such as your accountant.

These are all of them, and what each one sees:

• Railway (hosting) — runs our server and database, so your account and drive records live on their managed infrastructure.
• Cloudflare — serves the web app, and stores report files you generate.
• Stripe (payments) — handles card data for web subscriptions. We never see or store your card number.
• Apple & Google — handle in-app purchases on iOS and Android, and sign-in if you use Apple or Google to log in. We receive transaction identifiers, never your password.
• Resend (email) — sends verification, password-reset and report email. Receives the recipient address and the message.
• OpenStreetMap, Foursquare, Google Places (addresses & maps) — receive the coordinates of a drive’s start or end point so it can be shown as an address, and serve the map images in reports. They do not receive your name, email, or account.
• Sentry (error monitoring) — receives crash and error reports so we can fix bugs. Configured not to include your IP address, and not to include your drive or location data.

5. Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can export everything at any time, and deleting your account permanently removes your associated data, as described in the app under Settings → Account & data.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting us.
